Aber wenn ich schon mal in Kalifornien bin, dann sollte ich wenigstens mal einen Golfplatz ansehen und &#8217;ne Runde auf die Driving Range gehen, habe ich mir gedacht. Ein <a title=\"Google Maps: Bay Farm Island\" href=\"http:\/\/maps.google.com\/maps?f=q&amp;source=s_q&amp;hl=en&amp;geocode=&amp;q=alameda,+ca&amp;sll=37.0625,-95.677068&amp;sspn=33.626896,79.101563&amp;ie=UTF8&amp;ll=37.743164,-122.231998&amp;spn=0.032782,0.077248&amp;z=14\" target=\"gmaps\">Blick auf die Karte<\/a> zeigt, da\u00df auf der Nachbarinsel von Alameda &#8211; Bay Farm Island &#8211; ein ordentlicher Golfplatz zu finden ist: Der Chuck Corica Municipal Golf Complex. Die Fahrt dorthin dauert keine 10 min und der Platz ist \u00f6ffentlich. Das bedeutet nicht nur, da\u00df im Prinzip jeder spielen darf, sondern tats\u00e4chlich, da\u00df er st\u00e4dtisches Eigentum ist.<\/p>\n<p>Mit der Verst\u00e4ndigung ist das so eine Sache. Selbst wenn man Englisch versteht und wei\u00df, da\u00df man auf einem Golfplatz ist, kann man bei dem mit japanischer Betonung genuschelten Satz &#8222;I got Balls in three sizes&#8220; doch erstaunt die Augenbrauen heben. Es war nat\u00fcrlich gemeint, da\u00df man wenig, mittel oder viele B\u00e4lle bekommen kann.<\/p>\n<p>Der Platz selber sah recht gut aus und war tats\u00e4chlich unter der Woche Mittags voll. Ich habe gelesen, da\u00df man sein Spiel bis zu einer Woche im Voraus anmelden sollte.
